I am so mad at myself. We were over at my in-laws the other night and I left my camera there. Wow, I didn't ever realize how much I rely on my camera. I wanted to post pics of my 'homemade' Robin costume before Halloween, but I guess it is going to have to wait until Monday. I am going to have to make a trip there this morning though. Christopher is having a Halloween parade at school today. I would be the talk of the preschool if I am there to watch the parade and I am not taking pictures...LOL!
We have a busy weekend filled with soccer, parties and Trick-or-Treating. I am sure there will be lots to post next week. I just wanted to wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween! Enjoy the time with your families and friends. And, so, I might was well link up at a fun Halloween linky party over at Shibley Smiles. I could use some new readers....I am trying to make it to 100!!!

Adult Halloween Party...
So, last Friday my girlfriend hosted a Halloween party....this time for adults (she hosted one for the kids last week). I wasn't sure what Chris and I were going to be. I have made a Robin costume (little Christopher is going to be Batman for Halloween and he wanted me to be his sidekick) that I am going to wear on Halloween. But big Chris wasn't in to being a superhero. He wanted to be a doctor. I had not time to make my own costume for the party, so I just went to Party City and picked up a nurse outfit. Let me tell you, Chris was not a normal doctor. He was Dr. Shots - doctor of intoxication. Right up his alley. He even brought his own bottle and shot glasses. Oh, he got the party going. Here are some pics....
Note - the bottle of alcohol in my husbands hand...
Me and the girls...
(Vampiress, Bride of Frankenstein, Nurse Jenn, and the blonde Jessie!)
Dr. Shots giving out his medicine....
Some of the guests playing the donut game (each person had a donut hanging from a string and they had to eat the entire donut using only their mouth). It was quite a scene...LOL!
Halloween is such a fun time...we all need to celebrate : )

Miscellany Monday...
Welcome friends. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was nice...we had a Halloween party Friday night (will post about that tomorrow) and the rest of the weekend was kind of relaxing. No plans...just go with the flow. Anyway, here are a few of my random thoughts today.
ONE. How is it that most kids have more money in toys than I do in my bank account? We have been trying to clean out the kids bedrooms and playroom to start getting ready for Christmas. More toys. I swear, these kids need nothing. Every nook and cranny of every room has toys. So, please readers, if you were planning on shipping my kids a Christmas present from across the country, don't!
TWO. This is random. But why I have I noticed that so many bloggers are Mormon? If any of my readers are (other than you Allie..LOL), please let me know. I am truly interested if there is something about your religion that makes you want to blog more and be so darn crafty!
THREE. Halloween is this week. Yeah...the kids get so excited about getting to wear costumes outside. As if you don't know, Christopher wears costumes everyday, all day. But he obviously doesn't get to wear them in public. I still haven't gotten one for Anthony yet. Oh, and I made mine. I will be posting it later in the week.
So, I will leave you with Christopher and his everyday dress-up.....

What if....
These last two weeks have had me thinking. We have had 2 funerals to go to...both of which were 31 year old guys. Guys either my hubby or I knew from high school. Both who were involved with drugs at some point. What if my kids get involved with drugs when they are older?? What would I do, other an be devastated? I think we try as hard as we can to be good parents and sometimes our kids just don't turn out the way we expect. It makes me want to keep them little forever. I swear I am just going to smother them with love and hope they make the right decisions. So, please, let's all give our kids.....

Halloween Party Aftermath...
So, I was so crazy yesterday, I didn't have time to post. Both kiddos have really bad runny noses since Sunday and there was alot of crankiness happening. I kept Christopher home from school yesterday just because I didn't want him wiping his nose on all of the toys at school and then someone else catching it.
But I just wanted to let everyone know that we had a really fun time at my friend's Halloween party on Friday. You know, the one where I baked a million desserts. All of which were delicious if I do say so myself. The other moms and I have this whole gig down pat. We all are responsible for a craft or activity as well as bringing some food. The kids are so busy...it is great. Here is what we did:
-Decorated mini pumpkins with paint.
-Scavenger hunt.
-Decorated canvas totes with felt and stickers.
-Made mummy pizzas.
-Played 'pin the mouth on the skeleton'.
-Made finger puppets and foam arts and crafts.
-Made spider cupcakes.
And in between all of the activities the kids played and managed to make a huge mess. Here are some pics from our day. By the way, I have never posted pics of other people's kids, so I blurred out the faces. I am sure my friends would not mind, but you never know...LOL!

The boys before the party...we didn't have them wear costumes to this party as we are doing another one the day before Halloween!
Pumpkin painting....
Anthony looking for candy during the scavenger hunt...
Playtime between the activities...
All in all, we had a great time and everyone passed out when we got home. I was even in bed by 10pm which is really early for me. Well, I shouldn't say everyone was in bed early. The husbands went out and apparently they had fun too. My husband came stumbling in at 1am. Needless to say, I spend the rest of the weekend shopping alone and he stayed with the kids : )

Drug of choice....
Kids....the drug of choice....chocolate. If anyone was looking for me yesterday, I was in my kitchen making some really yummy desserts. Long story short, my girlfriends and I like to get together with the kids and throw parties. All kinds of parties. We actually went to a cooking place once (they charged us $50 each) and the kids got to make cupcakes from scratch, chocolate lollipops, etc. Since then we decided we could do it at home ourselves. In the past we have done similar projects where we let the kids do all the work. But today we are doing a Halloween themed party and it is going to be more about them just having fun. So the moms are doing all the work. Here is what made....
These are brownie eyeball bites. I saw the original recipe where you make brownies, roll them into balls, then dip them in white chocolate and then decorate. I tried that first and it didn't come out so good. I took the easy way out here and bought the Hostess Brownie Bites and just frosted them with vanilla icing and decorated.

Next is my pumpkin cake. It is a chocolate cake with orange icing. I then took Reese's Pieces and decorated to make the face.
I had a little problem...the cake didn't come out of the pan all of the way. The icing didn't hold it together go I had to improvise and I put marshmellows underneath so it didn't fall!
Next I made chocolate covered oreos....I just used the Wilton mold for these.
Lastly, my friend Allie told me about a Halloween bark that she saw on a blog. It sounded so good, I had to do it. I made mine by layering a pan with crushed oreo's, pretzels and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I then melted the chocolate and poured it over and mushed it around. I added sprinkles and just let it get hard. You break it into chunks...and you are good to go. I made chocolate for the moms and orange for the kids. The kids bark I put in little bags for them to take home.
And this is my dining room....a total mess!
Oh...and by the way. We are doing our party at 4pm. The husbands all decided to get together too....but at 7pm. Go figure. We will be getting home with the kids and they will just be heading out drinking!!

Cupcakes....
With Halloween approaching, I am getting emails and reading articles in magazines (as well as blog posts) about all of these super cute Halloween baking ideas. I swear I am going to gain 10 pounds just from looking at all of these awesome treats. I feel like trying all of them, but I know we are never going to eat that many sweets. So, I am going to pick a few of my favorites and try them in the upcoming weeks. I am also taking a 'cupcake' class tonight. I have no idea what it is going to entail, but it sounded good and it will get me out of the house for a few hours. I will let you know what I 'learned' tomorrow : )

Miscellany Monday...
Today is a great day for some randomness.....
ONE. If any of you didn't know, we had our first ever yard sale this Saturday. The hubby was kind of against it, but we needed to get rid of some junk as well as all of the big baby items. So, it went really well. Most of the weirdos stayed home, thank goodness. I was just surprised at how people really want something for nothing. It is called a 'sale' not 'I am giving everything away for free.' We made a little over $300 which I was happy about. The items that we didn't sell, I packed up and donated. I feel like a new woman with less clutter and some cash in my pocket!
TWO. Benadryl. I guess as I mom I should know to always keep some with me. Well, yesterday we decided to hit one of the million Fall Festivals and go pumpkin picking. We were having a great day....pig races, hayrides, petting zoo, the works. We sat down towards the end of the day to eat some delicious apples....when all of a sudden Christopher starts screaming. Crying uncontrollably. He got stung by a bee! That little stinker wanted a bite of his apple and got him right in the hand. I didn't know what to do. And of course at that moment my husband decided to go get a drink and I was alone with the kids. One sceaming in pain, the other one trying to run away, drinks spilling, apples being thrown. Pure insanity for 3 minutes. So, we put some ice on it and headed for home. But, of course, the traffic is dead stop. I finally got him calmed down...but we had to make a pit stop for Toys R Us. That was the best medicine of all!
THREE. Still on the Fall Festival from yesterday. Chris was waiting with Christopher on line for a go kart type ride. Well, a little girl ran ahead and jumped on one of the go karts. Then suddenly a man ran over to her, yanked her off of the go kart and started yelling at her to wait in line and to wait her turn. I wasn't there when it happened but my hubby was. He assumed the man was the girls father. Turns out, it wasn't. It was the father of another child who was also waiting. Would you just die if a stanger did that to your child!! Chris said he almost punched the guy on behalf of that little girl and her mom. I know if he acted like that to one of my kids, Chris would have not taken it lightly. Please people, act your age and never touch a child that is not your own!

Welcome weirdos...
TGIF people!! This weekend we are going. Going to the land of the crazy people and we are finally having a YARD SALE. We have never had one before as my hubby thinks it brings out all of the weirdos. I, on the other hand, don't agree. Yes, I think there are weirdos out there, but also think we will get some normal people that don't have alot of money to spend and may need a few new things. I have so many baby items. At this point I think I am done with children. And if I am not sure, then the hubs says we will just buy new things instead of trying to store all of the large items that we have. So, I will let you know on Monday how it goes. I hope I make some $$$!

My sewing skills improve...
I have made a shirt!! Yeah for me. It is by no means perfect. It is wearable though..LOL! I wanted something I could wear with leggings and I saw a pattern at JoAnn's so I picked it up and decided to try it. It didn't come out exactly the way it was supposed to. I am happy that at least I completed the project.
It has a wide v-neck....I don't think it was supposed to be that wide though..LOL!
Anyway...I am proud of it. I am off to JoAnn's to buy some more fabric for my next shirt :)
It is a little bit big, so I might add a drawstring to the back so I can pull it tighter.
Anyway...I am proud of it. I am off to JoAnn's to buy some more fabric for my next shirt :)

Miscellany Monday...
Hello blogland! Hope everyone had a great weekend. It is Monday and that means a few random musings. This Monday thing really cracks me up...do you all really care about the silly things that go through my head sometimes? Well, in case you do, I am going to share :)
ONE. My dishwasher stinks! Literally. I wash every dish, cup, fork, knife, etc. by hand before I put them in the dishwasher. I really don't know why I even use it because the dishes are clean when they go in. But for some reason, it smells. Now, it is not from rotting food because there is no food on the dishes. I swear, when I open it up, I gag. I have cleaned it a million times and it still stinks. Am I the only nut with this problem. BTW, I know you are thinking maybe it is time for a new one, but it is not even a year old!
TWO. Is this a Justin Bieber in the making or what??
THREE. The weather here stinks. Last week it rained most of the week. And as I am sitting here writing this I am watching the weather and it going to rain for the next 3 days!! You would think I live in Seattle and not New York :)
FOUR. What is the world coming to when they are selling 'The Situation' costumes for Halloween? The Jersey Shore has taken over!!!!Does anyone else think that this is ridiculous?
Have a great Monday : )
