This year a friend of mine came with her three kids which made for even more good times. I think I have come to realize that going on vacation with other families is great, but you need to make sure you still have separate time with ‘your’ family. And we did.

On a scenic drive we found a little lake that had a ton of frogs and tadpoles…the kids were thrilled!
And we did get dressed and go to dinner one night….
All in all it was just the trip we needed to spend some good quality time together as a family.
And now….back to reality!!

Sounds like a great vacation! I really had hoped the weather would cooperate with us so we could take one last small trip this summer. But, few things are worse than going to the lake in 106 degree weather in a drought.
Omg - the view is to die for! What I wouldn't give to see water with hills/mountains in the background! Looks like you had a great time, and you are right about making sure you get a healthy dose of quality family time in on your vacation too!
