Miscellany Monday...

Happy Monday everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend. We did. The weather here in NY was just perfect, so we spend the entire weekend outside. We are trying to make the most of the last few weekends before school and before Christopher starts soccer. Well, here are my random thoughts for Miscellany Monday...

ONE. Why is it that even a 20 minute nap can keep my child up until 11:30pm?? And on top of the fact that he was up that late, he decides to have a crying fit thinking about some old, useless stuffed animals that we donated last week. He was crying that he wanted them back. Animals that he has never played with. Did I ever tell you all how much I HATE stuffed animals?? Patience was a virtue last night!

TWO. Here is what our boat cabin looked like yesterday. This is why my kid was up late....

THREE. I have decided that I really am enjoying sewing. I have a few projects that I am working on that I will be posting soon. Will I end up with an Etsy shop like every other mom blogger??

FOUR. There are some things in life that we cannot change. Some people that will never change. And we know this. Why is it that most of us still try to change the things we don't like, including certain characteristics in people??

Final Vacation Pics...

So, I have a few more vacation pictures that I wanted to share. I know, you have all had enough of my children and Lake George by now. But hey, this is my only vacation this year, so you will just have to suffer through it.
Christopher and I tubing. I was shocked he did it, he can be a bit of scaredy cat.

Chris jumped off the back of the boat and of course Anthony wanted in too.

At the fair in the park in Lake George Village...

The park was right across from our cabin.
Christopher and his friend taking in the sights of the lake.

Christopher passed out on the floor the last night as I was too busy having
Sangria to come and get him ready for bed!

We passed the O.C.C. (Orange County Choppers - show on TLC) shop on
the way home. I just had to take a picture!

Some vacation pics and stories....

So, if any of you know me in 'real life', you that my life is like a comedy show. Always something going on. And, of course, going on vacation is no different. We go to Lake George every year the same week and stay at the same place. It is nice because we get to see the same families every year. It is alot of work though. You have to bring everything.....food, cleaning supplies, sheets, etc. That is why I said yesterday that I prepare for weeks.

The weather wasn't that great this year. It was on the chilly side and we did have some rain. The good thing is that we bring our boat to the lake and it is very serene. The mountains are beautiful and we love just going for boat rides. But, Christopher was not feeling so great before we left. So, the vacation went something like this.....

1. Christopher throws up as we are walking out the door to leave for vacation.
2. Chrisotpher has to take a poop as we are driving and there are no rest stops. We pull to the side of the road and he craps in the portable potty in the front seat (with him sitting between my legs).
3. Anthony covers himself in bleach (I bring bleach to clean the tub before I bath the kids in it) and hubby has panic attack.
4. Christopher breaks out in hives all over his body (again, hubby has panic attack).
5. Christopher plays with some older boys and learns alot of new 'bad' words that I am now working on correcting.
6. Christopher throws up in a McDonalds Happy Meal box at the rest stop on the way home.
7. Home Sweet Home....

Kids calling eachother on our cell phones to keep them entertained on the 8 hour car ride
(that should have only taken 5 hours)....

Our redneck set-up of our deck in the rain (good thing hubby comes prepared)...

I am back....and Miscellany Monday

Hello Blogland!! Oh how I have missed you. I took a bloggy vacation last week as we went to Lake George in upstate NY. I did bring my computer, but I guess the service in the middle of no man's land is not very good as I had lots of trouble getting connected. I will be posting pics and things about our vacation throughout the week. All I know is that I am happy to be home and in my own bed!!! I do not even know where to begin with reading all of the posts I missed. I will be up late this week catching up. And now to Miscellany Monday hosted by Carissa.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

ONE. Why does it you take weeks to prepare for vacation and all of about 2 hours to unpack when you get home? I swear I have been planning for this trip for forever. Yet, I unpacked, did laundry, sanitized the kids and the toys, went through the mail and gave myself a pedicure (glorified camping is not good for the feet) all before the 10 o'clock news (mind you we got home at 5:30pm).

TWO. This could be a whole post in itself.....where do you draw the line as parents of boys with allowing them to play with guns (water guns, Nerf guns, etc.)?  Is it all just innocent fun or do we have to worry that our kid is going to turn into a terrorist if we allow it? We had alot of 'police' play this vacation and I am not sure how I felt about it.

THREE. Camping in the middle of the woods, high in the mountains on a lake was beautiful. But the new Coach bag that I bought at the outlets not far from the cabin is even more beautiful!

FOUR. I have yet to figure out why some people would want to have 14 children. We vacationed with a couple with that many kids (no twins in there) and I was just flawed as I watched them. I swear I get overwhelmed with 2 kids, how do you not go clinically insane??

Bloggy Vacation...

So, you all probably think I already started my bloggy vacation since I didn't post yesterday. But that was just me running around like a chicken without a head, not finding 2 minutes for myself. I leave this computer plugged in all day, on my kitchen counter, and I still cannot find 5 minutes. I think I may need to start to try and work on my time management skills...LOL! I am not going to be around this week, so I hope you all have a great time without me. I will see you on Monday, Aug. 23.  Geez, I am already stessing on how I am going to read all of the posts I am going to miss!

Top 2 Tuesday....

Hello Friends!! I know....I am a slacker. But you knew that already. I missed posting yesterday. I am sorry. These swimming lessons will be over next week and I will have more time. Oh, wait, I am taking a 'bloggy' vacation next week. I guess I won't have my act together for a few more weeks! We had another fun filled weekend. We went down to the beach Saturday night and bar-b-qued with my family and some friends. It was really nice. My sis has a nice big boat (you can fit our boat inside of theirs) and so the hubby and Christopher had a sleepover with my brother-in-law and my nephews. It was a 'boys' night. They slept on the boat. I wasn't sure how Christopher was going to be as he only slept away from me once. But his dad was there and he was just fine. I still had Anthony, so I didn't get off that easy!

This week Top 2 Tuesday is 'tips'. Meaning any kind of 'tip' you can provide whether it be a cooking tip, cleaning tip, etc. to make your life easier. Here are my tips....

ONE. Do not leave a basket of folded laundry on the floor with 2 kids in the house or it will look something like this....

TWO. If you are planning on doing any kind of house renovations or even just planning on making a big purchase, buy Lowe's or Home Depot coupons on Ebay!! We did alot of interior work these past few months (painting, new mouldings, doors, light fixtures, new front door, etc.) and we saved a ton of money with coupons I purchased on Ebay. I got (10) 10% off coupons for just $3. That $3 saved me about $500!!

My Beach Cover-Up and Linky Parties

So, I told you earlier in the week that we have just been so busy lately. I swear there are not enough hours in the day.  Gee, with all of this technology, you would think that someone would figure out how to make 30 darn hours in a day!! Anyway, besides from spending time outdoors this summer, I have also been working on my sewing skills. I wanted another beach cover-up since we are always at the pool or the beach. I bought some fabric from JoAnn's and went to work. Remind you, I have never really sewn before, other than those few summer dresses. And those were really simple, only 2 seams because the shirring on the top was already done. So...here is my cover-up...I think it came out pretty good, considering. The fabric is great because you can't see all of my crooked seams!

I drew a pattern on paper and copied it onto the fabric...

If you look close, you will see that it is not perfect..LOL!

I just happened to have this lace on hand from when I decorated the kids bassinets...

And now, for some Friday linky fun! Link up to meet some new bloggy friends at these great parties..

Have a great weekend everyone.....

Top 2 Tuesday...

Hello All....hope everyone had a great weekend. We were so busy yesterday morning that I forgot to post..LOL! It seems like everyone is slacking a little bit these last few weeks when it comes to posting. So I really don't feel so bad. I guess we are all trying to take advantage of the last few weeks of summer and spending time with our families. I have also been spending time with my sewing machine. I just completed a simple skirt and a beach cover-up for our trip to Lake George in upstate NY.  I am so excited. They are not perfect by any means, but they came out pretty decent for someone who does not know how to sew. I will post pics later in the week.

Now....for Top 2 Tuesday hosted by the Undomestic Momma. This week it is 'simple pleasures.' Gee, I am not really sure how to take that one..LOL! Mine are....

ONE. Watching my 2 boys play together...and play nicely. That is key. When they are interacting and having fun, it makes me think of the great life they are going to have together. So sweet.

TWO. This sounds really silly....but a good manicure and pedicure. It makes me feel much better about my appearance...who doesn't like nice toes??
