I will be the first to say that I love a good craft. Funny enough, how I really discovered blogging was only a few months ago when I was searching online for some ideas on a Mickey Mouse 1st birthday party I was throwing for my Anthony. I got so many great ideas from blogs. Well..I am amazed at how crafty some people really are. I mean....I know there are people who can sing, some people can dance...there are many different talents a person can posess. But..WOW..some people can really craft!!! I have to admit, sometimes I can't really imagine that these ladies really have the time and patience to sit and make all of these amazing things while still raising their kids and cooking dinner. Are there kids locked in the closet all day???
Anyway....I am also a coupon junkie. I am constantly clipping....so much my fingers hurt. But on one income, saving a dime here and there adds up. So, I came across this great post on Executive Homemaker. They have a load of great crafts and things to keep you organized. And Lord knows....we all need a little organization in our lives!! They are Printable Coupon File Labels. This will surely fare better than the ziploc bag that I use. Maybe it will help you too!

An award ....for me and for others??
Happy Friday...I woke up this mornig to check my blog...and to my happy surprise, I have won my first "blogger's" award!! Being so new to this world, I am not exactly sure what that means but at least I have won. I think it is a "virtual pat on the back" and for that I am greatful. Check out the award title...The Preppy Mafia..
My hubby will be excited hearing the word "mafia," sometimes I think he thinks he is a real John Gotti. Does the subtitle of my blog "Just try to break this family.." imply we have connections?? LOL! In all honesty I am truly flattered. I want to thank Shannon from Webbisodes ( http://www.ourgatorzone.blogspot.com/ ) for this great award. She was one of the first to come across my blog and become a follower. I am very glad to be meeting some great people in the blogging world and hope that this adventure takes me to a great place. Now..I think I am supposed to answer the questions below and pass this award on to a few of my favorite bloggers. I hope they will participate too. So, here goes..
Welcome to the Preppy Mafia! Now for a few questions, you cannot refuse.
1. Who is your style icon(s)?
I would have to go with Jennifer Lopez..she can looking amazingly beautiful on the red carpet and just as beautiful in her sweats hanging out with her twins.
2. What is your favorite Socialite lit book?
I don't think I have ever read a socilalite book...does the back of the Soprano's DVD cover count?
3. Favorite party theme?
I too am a lover of all parties....don't really have a specific theme.
4. Go in a Halloween costume?
I do love Halloween. Hubby and I have gone to many a party dressed up. Now that I have the kiddles, I get dressed to go Trick-or-Treating with them. This year I was a pirate.
5. Extravagance you cannot live without?
That would be my Coach diaper bag. It was a gift from my hubby when I had my first son and here I am, 4 years later, still using it.
6. Living person you admire?
My husband. He is the hardest worker I know. He will go to any measure to protect his family (did I tell you he thinks he is John Gotti?) and do whatever he has to do to make sure we are taken care of.
7. Greatest fear?
Getting stung by a bunch of bees......
8. Trait you deplore in yourself?
I dislike the fact that I sometimes can be too trusting. I try to always see the good in people, but that has lead me to get taken advantage of in the past.
9. Which talent would you most like to have?
I wish I were able to dance...and dance really good. I never had the opportunity to take dance lessons as I child. You see so many talented people who have done it since they were young and are amazing by like 16!!
10. Greatest Achievement?
Of course, that would be my two boys. Ask me that again in 18 years when I see how they have turned out!
My Preppy Mafia Award goes to.......drumrole please.....

9 A.M......naptime already!!
Oh....how I am remembering the days of teething!! The nightmares are resurfacing. My little Anthony is driving me insane. Is that horrible to say??? Anyone that knows him personally, knows he is an amazing child. Not sure if he is good by nature or if God just knows I would not be able to handle a "bad" second child. He is is always smiling and laughing and just goes with the flow...kind of like his mama. But this last week his teeth are really bothering him. He has 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. I was assuming some more bottom ones were coming, but, low and behold....molars!! I feel so bad for him....BUT...I am going to be visiting the crazy house this week with all of the whining. Both of my kids are usually late sleepers...as they go to bed late. But with his teeth, Anthony is getting up earlier. This morning, my patience was dwindling....and it for Anthony....9AM....it was naptime already!

Need to know...comment help!
I am so excited that I have gotten comments on my posts these last few days. Wow..the things that make us happy!! So, here is the issue. If someone leaves you a comment and you want to respond...are you to respond on your own post or on a post of theirs?? Please...help a sister out.
Wordless Wednesday...what is it?
As I have been exploring the "mommy" blogging world....I see alot of posts today called "Wordless Wednesday." Everyone is posting pics with no content on the post, just the pics. I am assuming that is what you are supposed to do. Needless to say, I am writing this anyway when I am not supposed to be. Those of you who know me, know I always have something to say : ) So, I will post some pics that have left me speechless..
Where are my kids pants??
Ever feel like packing them up and shipping them out?
Every car ride should be this quiet....

Better late than never...BYOB Party 2010
Wow....a BYOB Party...I am so excited. When I saw the initials...I was hoping we were bring beer somewhere (just kidding...I would be bringing the strong stuff...like vodka)!! Since I am a total newbie to the "mommy" blogging world, this is great for me. I am getting linked to some many great and hilarious blogs, I think I might need an intervention because this is becoming addicting!!
Let me tell you a little about me. I would tell you to stay awhile and explore my blog...but there is not too much to explore yet. I just hope you will leave a comment or become a follower. Anyway, back to me.
I am SAHM to two boys, Christopher, 4 and Anthony, 1. Cute, aren't they??
I was in the marketing world at a Fortune 500 company in NYC when I decided to stay home after my son was born. Wow..someone should have told me about blogging then...I could have been the next Perez Hilton by now : ) I have been married for 6 years to a hard-working man who is great..complete opposite of me....not sure sometimes how it even works, but it does. I love being home although sometimes I wish I had a bedroom in the garage so I could but myself in a time-out!! I love to shop, but don't always have money. I love to craft, but don't always have the time. And I love to laugh, so come along for the ride and hopefully you will too! http://www.d-listedmomblogs.com/?page_id=66/
Mom's Club...who do you let join the circle??
So, I was speaking with a friend about our "circle" of moms. I have been very fortunate to have made a handful of very good friends these last 4 years. These truly are friends I think I will have forever....and I met them because of my children. I used to work in the corporate world in NYC and when I became a SAHM, I joined everything I could find. I went to the library, I took classes, I talked to any mother I saw at the grocery store just to make some friends who where in the same place as I was. And thankfully it worked well. Don't get me wrong, there have been some psychos along the way...but all in all, I have had good experiences. So, needless to say...I met a SAHM through a friend that seems like a nice person. But you know when you know that you are just not joining to click with this person. It is like going on a date....the chemistry has to be there. You check out your date...how is he dressed, what kind of car does he drive, will you have fun with him??? Well....let's admit, we do this to other SAHM's. Will she fit in with my other friends, will our kids get along when we go the park? I know this SAHM that I met will not fit in my "circle" of mom friends. Where do you draw the line.....as a SAHM, are we supposed to let anyone in our club?? I am going with "no"......I have enough friends : )

"Mommy Jewelry"..Love it or Hate it?
Happy Monday!! So...as I have started on this journey of blogging, I spent all weekend thinking of what I wanted to write about for my first "official" post. But, realistically, am I supposed to be "thinking" of what to write?? And as I sat there, I looked down at my wrist...and that was it..."Mommy Jewelry." For the last few weeks I have been on this kick of wanting to wear jewelry that is symbolic of my children and husband. But how many "mom" things do I need? Last year a got a white gold disk that had "Christopher" engraved in it along with his birthstone. And then of course when Anthony came along, I needed one for him. But I started to wear them together and they began to scratch. I have seen them featured in every magazine (especially in the back of US Weekly...yes, I read trash magazines) and they are layered together with numerous disks and cute little stones and they look great. I took mine back to the jeweler and they are currently being fixed, therefore, I have no picture to show you. My girlfriends all ordered the sterling silver single disks and they are adorable and they were half the price. So, it goes to show you that just because something is more money, doesn't make it better!! Anyway, those disks are the first of my "mom" decorations!! This is an example of the necklace...
Now, let's talk Pandora. I guess I am a little behind, because I just really started hearing about them recently. I think they are beautiful...well made with a great selection of charms. Is it a fad?? But charm bracelets have been around for forever. So, I was going to get one, when I heard about Brighton (again, I guess I am lagging in the popular jewelry brand department because Brighton has been around for many years too). They have the same concept bracelet with an even cuter selection of charms....and they are half the price!! Bingo...well, with Mother's Day approaching, I decided I needed to have the bracelet. And, so here it is. I got the ring to signify my hubby and then the kids initials. I am sure I will fill up the bracelet with more charms....but here I am, now with "mom" item #2. Check out http://www.brighton.com/.
Well, I have a necklace and bracelet, so now what do I need??? A ring, of course. As I sit on the computer at midnight (as I do every night when all is quiet), I shop for rings. I came across numerous sites with sterling silver rings where you could engrave names or a saying in cute fonts. Do I really need this?? No. But should I order it?? Yes. I got one with the kids names. For some reason when I tried to take a pic, it was coming out blurry. So, here is a pic from the site on which I ordered, http://www.laurennicolegifts.com/. Denise, the owner, was great. I placed the order and had it within a week. I was so excited when I got it, that I ordered another one with mine and the hubby's names!
So..."Mommy Jewelry"...love it or hate it?? I love it!! Don't worry, I will not wearing all of these pieces together :)

ANOTHER BLOG STARTS NOW....
So...I have caved in....I am joining the dark side...I am becoming a "Mommy Blogger." This is going to either make or break me. Will I find a passion that will make me a happy SAHM (aka Stay At Home Mother) and fulfill my desire to do something other than play Legos and Batman? Or will I get so frustrated with the logistics of this blog layout that I go even crazier?? It all remains to be seen. As I travel this road of blogging, I will share with you. I will share maybe a DIY craft, a great Target fashion find, or a review of something I cannot live without. And along the way, I will tell you the tales of my life as a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a playmate, a butt wiper, a maid, a chef, a gardener and whatever else I need to be at the time. Until tomorrow....
