Bathroom Renovation….

Rise and shine, happy Monday!! The weekend is over and we are back to school and work today. I know that last week I was going to try and get back to a ‘normal’ blogging routine, but I fell short again these past few days. I am horrible, I know…….lol! But I forgot to tell you in my last post one other reason I have been so crazy. The reason is this……

The hubs just finished gutting our main floor bath…..

We have two bathrooms in our house, one upstairs and one downstairs. Both are kind of in need of a renovation, but the upstairs one was worse…lol. I do not have a master bathroom so this is shared by us and the kids. I did have a doorway from my bedroom in to the bathroom though. And we did use it. But with this reno, we decided to close up the doorway so our master bedroom could have more closet space. I think I can walk an extra five feet to the main door and it is not going to kill me. Closets to any woman are way more important!!!

I have spent countless hours and numerous trips back and forth, looking at vanities, picking out tile, lighting and a tub and toilet. All to find out….I need to START OVER AGAIN!!! I picked a vanity and planned the entire bathroom around it. Well, I went to order that vanity last Friday and it is discontinued!! I was so mad.

So, now I am going to be smarter. I am ordering the vanity first and then I will pick out the tile and the fixtures once I receive the vanity. The tub and toilet are ordered, so those will stay. But, renovations are hard…..there are so many decisions. I am going for a more traditional, classy look with this bathroom and I wanted a vanity that looked more like a piece of antique furniture and it was not easy to find!!

I was thinking along these lines for the vanity…..

Ok…and these would be my dream bathrooms if I was rich and had the space….

So, wish me luck during this process that I do not have a nervous breakdown and that I do not divorce my husband since he will be doing all of the work…! No, seriously, I am so thankful that my husband can do anything. He saves us alot of money and no one is more meticulous than he is!! I know it will be beautiful.

Have a great day....

OMG!! What a frustration! Good thing you have a great husband willing to do the work! I like the last of the vanity pics. Its got the "armoir" look but is updated. I can't wait to see the pics when you get it finished!

Girl - we have the same taste...EXPENSIVE! LOL. I wish you well with this...I don't know if our whole family could operate on one bathroom for very long. I can't wait to see updated photos as it progresses!
