One birthday down, one to go!

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Sorry we have been a little MIA…I told you that we are in birthday party mode all week : )

Anthony’s real birthday was this past Sunday. He is now 2. I can’t even believe it. I feel like being pregnant with him was only yesterday. It is crazy. Anyway, Christopher’s birthday is this upcoming Friday. So we celebrated both boys this weekend with my husband’s family. Since it was the house party, I did not have to do all of the goodie bags and as many decorations. There was only a few kids, so I tried to keep it simple. Next week’s party will be more involved.

Believe it or not, I didn’t snap as many photos as I wanted. You know how that goes…..when you are hosting, you never sit.

We went with the Lego theme……here was our inspiration.


Of course I needed to make both boys Lego birthday party shirts. I created the image on the computer, printed on iron-on paper and just sewed a border around them. Anthony got a crown with Lego heads since it was his ‘real’ birthday….LOL!


I used my new Silhouette SD machine to make some of the decorations. I posted this on the door…
 

There were Lego heads and bodies all over the place….


I also got square plates from Walmart and used a Sharpie to draw a face. Yes, there were some relatives that questioned this. But, it doesn’t come off. Oh, well, you ate a little bit of marker : )


We had two cakes….the top one is from the bakery. But I wasn’t sure that the kids would eat it since it had cannoli filling, so I made chocolate cake for the kiddos.



And finally….I was able to get one shot with each of my boys.



First party is done and was a success. Now on to the next!

Happenings….

TGIF!! Hope everyone had a great week. Today we are taking a break from Phone Photo Friday (sorry Allie…LOL) due to the craziness of the upcoming week.

Just wanted to pop in to wish you all a great weekend. Anthony’s 2nd birthday is on Sunday and I still have not finished shopping or preparing my house for the party. You all know how that works…..spend days cleaning for everyone to come and mess it all up for a few hours, then clean again after everyone leaves!! LOL!

I still have preparing to do for Christopher’s birthday next week too. What was I thinking have 2 kids with birthday’s the same week??  I will hopefully post some of the decorations and games we are planning for the ‘kiddie party’ sometime next week.

So, I leave you with a glimpse into my world this past week….

Happy Hump Day....

Frazzled….

So, where did Spring go?? We were lucky enough to get a few nice days last week. Days where we did not have to wear a jacket and the kids were just so excited to be outside playing. And now this morning, I wake up to rain and even SNOW!!  It is so depressing.

And to add to my depression, I am feeling like this is the theme of my life right now…..


And it is making me like this….


Not sure if I told you or not, but my boys have their birthdays in the same week. I know, great planning. They were actually due the exact same day (3 years apart) but ended up coming within a few days with eachother. And yes, I know not to have sex on that day anymore…LOL! Well, their birthdays are next week and I have so much to do. We are having 2 parties, one for family and one for their friends at a local MY GYM. Between shopping for presents, menu planning, and making decorations….my brain is frazzled.

We are having a LEGO themed party and so I am trying to also learn how to use my new Silhouette SD machine to help with the decorations. Not a great time for a learning curve...LOL!

Needless to say, it might be a little quiet around here this week. Oh, and I also promised to make a few things (bow holders, a tutu and some wristlets) for some family members that are going to be at the party. So I need to get those projects done this week too!!! Why I am I so nice?? LOL!

Miscellany Monday…

I am going to start off saying that I hope everyone is saying a little prayer this week for all of those who suffered loss during the horrific tragedy in Japan.  I am still trying to comprehend the magnitude of what happened!! The whole thing is just unbelievable to me. With that said…..here are some of my random thoughts for today….



ONE. Okay…I am still on the earthquake here. How does this happen?? I mean, I understand and I have watched the news, but it just seems so odd to me. The magnitude of what mother nature can do is just amazing. So amazing that it is probably the scariest thing in the world. That in the blink of an eye, all that we know can be destroyed. It makes me appreciate all I have a lot more and reminds me that we are just visiting on this planet called Earth. If anyone knows of any ways to help, please spread the word.


TWO. On a much lighter note, I was at the mall yesterday and I am so excited for Spring to come. There are so many cute prints out that I am just dying to buy some new clothes. I love dresses and skirts in the Spring and Summer and I am thrilled that both are going to be big again this year. And have you seen all of the hot espadrilles?? I love them, although they are really not practical for a mom of 2 little ones…LOL!



THREE. So, does it seem like bloggy land is rather quiet these days?? I feel like I am seeing less and less posts from a few of my favorite bloggers : (  I know we are all busy and have a lot going on. But blogging is what you want it to be. I know that I am not here to reach a million followers or to make millions of dollars. I truly enjoy meeting others and getting to know them. I love all of the talented people that are out there and it inspires me to want to learn and try new things. Once you feel like blogging has become a ‘job’ it is not fun anymore. But for those of you who need a break, remember you truly have people out there that care about you. And we don’t need you to post everyday…..just fill us in once in a blue moon so we can see your cute kids and your creative crafts!!
