Miscellany Monday...

Happy Monday bloggy buddies! Hope everyone had a great weekend and got some shopping, wrapping, baking or crafting done. I have to say, I did not do much myself. The hubs went away Friday night and came home late Saturday night so it was just me and the kiddos. We kind of just relaxed and spent time together. We were going to get our Christmas tree on Sunday when Chris was home, but it rained the entire day. And it is supposed to rain Monday and Tuesday. Are we ever going to get a tree???

And now for a few random musings....

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

ONE. The rocker. I actually spoke of my rocker a few weeks ago and named it as one of the places in my home that I am most thankful for. It is where I have spend many a nights and made many a memories with both of my boys. Well, the rocker has been putting me to sleep. Literally. These last few days when I am sitting with Anthony to put him down for a nap or at bedtime, I fall asleep. Even if it is for 2 minutes, I can't seem to keep my eyes open. Am I just that exhausted?? I can see now why my kiddos have always loved to sit in it : )

TWO. Do I look like a bad mom? Do my kids look like they are neglected? Why is it that strangers find it necessary to comment on my parenting skills? Seems like this happens to me quite a bit. Over the weekend we were on line at Michael's and the kids were asking for candy (of course it is so strategically placed at the cashwrap). Anthony was picking up every one and could not decide what he wanted. The woman on line behind me says "don't buy him the Skittles, they are bad for your teeth. Too much sugar. You should go with the chocolate."  I just looked at her. Who the heck are you lady?? I will buy my kid any kind of candy I want. Mind your business. And the kicker is, her teeth were horrible....I think maybe she had eaten too many Skittles!!

THREE. I am having one of those months. A month where you just can't stand the way you look and you hate your hair. I am going to let it grow out and this in-between stage is just horrible. I either like my hair really long or really short. I am not one that is attached to their hair. I can cut it any way or color it any color and I am always open to something new. Change is good. So, I think I am going to have to do something with the color since I really don't want to cut it. Maybe pink?? Could you imagine...the hubs would die...LOL! I will let you know what I decide.

Have a great day...

I've had someone try to tell me how to parent my child in a department store. It was funny though, because I had seen her with her toddler throughout the store, and he was throwing tantrums in the toy dept. To make him stop crying, she gave him the toy he was throwing a fit about... so in the checkout line, when she told me that I shouldn't let my daughter eat the candy before we had paid for it, I told her that she shouldn't reward her son for throwing a tantrum by giving him toys. As I paid for the candy that my daughter was eating, she tried (and failed) to take the toy away from her son. On the way out of the store, my daughter said, "wow mommy, that little boy needs a time out huh?" I wiped the chocolate from her face, and told her she was absolutely right. Aaaah, the joys of motherhood.

Oh wow....gotta love strangers!! I am amazed what comes out of peoples mouthes these days. It's funny how people think that it's OK to do these things. WHere have manners gone? I may have lost my religion on her:) HA

And the rocker....LOL, I remember that post. I asked my MIL about it...she has it. In her room. Didn't offer it back, lol. Oh well.... DON'T LET YOURS OUTTA YOUR SIGHT!!

1. Oh how I wish I had a rocking chair. I got rid of mine about a decade ago when I figured we weren't having another baby (please note that I was unaware that I'd soon have three in rapid succession). I miss it!

2. I can't stand that! People constantly talk to us when we're out. I think it's the draw of twins, but seriously don't ask me if I've had IVF because I might throat punch you.

3. I feel that way too, although sometimes I'm too afraid to do anything really drastic. I did go red last Christmas though! Definitely post a picture when you make your big change!

You are tired! I could fall asleep standing up sometimes..... So, a rocking chair doesn't sound bad to me :)
People who offer that kind of unsolicited advice are insecure in their parenting skills themselves. I probably would have grabbed 2 bags of skittles, just to make a point.
I am in pink now, because they were out of purple. Do something fun! I always like blue :)

We need to chat soon! I feel like we haven't talked in ages! Catch me tonight if your up for it! Or at least not in the rocker, lol!

my son will not keep his socks on and last week while pushing him in the grocery carriage at the market, a woman commented about his bare feet. when i told her he wouldn't keep them on, she told me that he needed some serious discipline and that i needed to spank him to make him learn to keep those socks on his feet. he's only 1. i was so shocked!

i dyed my hair purple on the front last year. just a few small pieces. i loved it! i am not too attached to my hair either.

Okay totally irks me when strangers chime in with their two cents! Sometimes I feel like replying ever kindly, "If I really wanted your opinion, I would've asked for it...but thanks!"

I am in a love/hate relationship with my hair! Since GG it has changed from stick straight to very wavy and curly! Not to mention it's super thick! There are days I want to cut it off, but then quickly realized that I'd actually have to do it...pulling it back is just so easy!

Have a good one...any luck with the ornaments for HTT?

Ha! My 4 year old was crawling around on the floor at the mall the other day and some lady was all "I wouldn't let her do that, there are so many germs on this floor." I said, "Lady - my kid licked the tire on my truck on our way in to the mall - I think she'll be fine." Sometimes people just need to worry about themselves! True story.
