TGIF!! Hope the week was good for all of you. We were busy as usual. I tell you, the days and weeks seem to be flying by lately. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing!!
Just wanted to share a quick little project I did earlier in the week. I saw this pillow somewhere and thought it was a cute idea for a bridal shower.
I am sure that this is what most of us say to our husband’s at night…LOL!
But if we are feeling a little fun, we may say this….
Here is a close-up. I planned on making it a little more detailed with some embellishment, but decided to just keep it simple.
Thanks to my friend Brandy for helping me out this project. Since I do not have an embroidery machine, she was kind enough to do it for me! Thanks Brandy : )
Hope you all have a great weekend…
Good morning everyone!! I was not planning on posting this morning since we are going to be headed out the door shortly. But I wanted to quickly play along with my friend LeeAnn who has a new linky starting today. It is ‘Tell us something good’……
We should all take the time a little more often to think about how blessed we are and stop focusing on the negative. I know I am guilty of dwelling on the bad sometimes. So, no more negative thoughts.
My something good today is this….
I discovered these tasty treats a few weeks ago. I have been TRYING to eat better and shed a few pounds. These are only 100 calories. I add a few scoops of Cool Whip on top and it is like have dessert for breakfast!
Enjoy your day!
Congratulations to my little sister Jeanna and he boyfriend Greg…
He just gave her this…..
My hubs tells her this… “this is your first of three rings…engagement ring, then wedding ring and then the SUFFER-ring”..LOL!
Tomorrow marks our 7 year wedding anniversary (11 years together)! Sometimes I sit back and just think about how life has changed over the years. Things were so simple, so easy and so fun. Going to nice dinners and getting cocktails on the weekends were a ritual for us. Now, we haven’t been to dinner in forever…LOL!
But, 2 kids later, our life it complete. Staying home on the weekends and playing with our boys is worth more than any good steak…LOL! I am truly blessed to have a wonderful family. Marriage is not easy. There are good times and bad times. Happy times and sad times. But always trying to remember why you married in the first place is so important. We tend to lose sight and steer off the path of love in this hectic world. Bringing it back and putting it into perspective is something I know I need to do more often.
Thank you to my husband for being an excellent provider, a great father and an amazing husband. I hope we have many more happy, healthy years together!!
Happy
Anniversary!!!
Hope everyone is off to a good start this week. It is supposed to be warm here today….so my good mood is in the hopes that the weather man is correct. We had a very busy weekend, as usual. I haven’t done a Miscellany Monday post in awhile, so figured today is as good a day as any to do some rambling.
ONE. I took the plunge and came in to the age of technology. The hubs and I got these over the weekend….
Now I think I need to take a college course if how to use it. It is amazing what phones can do. I am sure I am not going to be using half of the features, but it is fun to play around. I am a little scared though….seems like people can track anything about you from these phones!!
TWO. Spring is officially here…..I know because T-Ball has officially started for Christopher. We had a few practices already and this past Saturday was the opening day parade. The kids picked the name ‘Superhero’s’ which we all thought was cute. At Thursday’s practice some of the mom’s thought it would be fun if the kids wore capes in the parade….you know, to go with the name of the team. So, being the nice person that I am, I decided to volunteer and make 10 capes the night before the parade!!!
Of course I needed to make Anthony one too!
The kids looked great and they all had a blast. We are looking forward to a great season!
THREE. On a sad note, there was a terrible accident right near our house over the weekend. Supposedly a woman and her hubs were fighting, she left in her car and the hubs was chasing her. She crashed into a parked car going 120 miles per hour and then swerved and hit a gas pump. Needless to say, she died instantly.
It just got me thinking about how short life really is. There were probably arguing over something so silly and look how it ended. I am promising myself to not sweat the small stuff and to put things in perspective. I say that today until my kids are driving me crazy tomorrow…LOL!
Have a great day everyone…
Good morning!! We are out the door early this morning but I couldn’t resist a quick little post on something I made for someone special.
I don’t think I have ever written about my neighbor Mary. Well, we call her the ‘crazy cat lady.’ She loves cats. I mean, she lives for cats. Not only does she have 6 herself, but she is part of a rescue team. Every single day, 2 times a day, she goes and feeds 30 stray and feral cats. She buys the food with her own money, spending hundreds of dollars a month.
Mary is very generous with my kids. She is also there if I need her to sit with the kids for a few minutes every now and then. So, when she came over asking for a donation a week ago, we happily gave her $50. Now, remind you, neither Chris or myself are animal people. But this is her passion and we love her.
She surprised me by coming over with a video she made the other day. I nearly fell off my chair. You can view it here. It is actually really funny. I helped her to upload it to YouTube. If you don’t watch the video, she calls herself ‘Peddling Granny’ and she tries to ‘exercise’ her right to spay and neuter cats.
Well, today is her birthday so I wanted to get her a little something. I decided to use my Silhouette and make her this mug…
I also saw these notecards and thought they would make perfect ‘thank you’ notes that she could give to the people that donate to her cause.
I hope she likes her present…..
Have a great day!
