My wedding dress….

Happy Monday everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend and are starting off the week on a good note. This week the kiddos are off from school for Easter break. We have a few playdates scheduled and I am going to try and get in some ‘spring cleaning’….we all know now is the time to clean out those closets and drawers!!

Well, our anniversary was this past Saturday. And let me tell you…..the day was completely hectic. We were overbooked with T-ball, acting class, a birthday party and even a trip to the hospital to see my sister (she was admitted Friday night for pnemonia but is doing okay now)!! But Saturday night came and Chris and I were sure we needed a break. It was a rainy, stormy night…..but we braved the weather and headed to dinner. It was so nice to have a few hours alone. We just talked, ate and reminisced about our wedding night.

Every year on our anniversary I try on my wedding dress. Yes, you heard me correct. I relive my wedding day all over again. I never got my dress cleaned and preserved after the wedding. My intentions were to do it, but I just kept putting it off and I am glad I did. What fun would it be to just look at the dress in a box?? I will say, there were a few years where the dress did not fit….LOL.

Here are a few pics from my actual wedding so you can see the dress when it looked nice. It is a strapless A-line gown with beading at the top and all along the bottom.

The kids were so funny when I tried the dress on. They wanted to re-enact the wedding, but this time I was marrying Christopher..LOL. And Anthony melted my heart by pointing at me and saying ‘princess.’

Here is the front of the dress….

Here is the dirt that is still on the bottom…LOL!

I even tried on my headpiece……

And here is me with my boys…..the best part of being married is that I have them.

And I am planning on wearing this dress again someday to renew my vows….hopefully it will be in Hawaii which is where we went on our honeymoon!!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

I love that you can still fit in your dress! The last time I wore mine was my wedding day. I think the dress is still tucked away in my mom's closet too...and there's no way in hades it fits either.

Glad you enjoyed your anniversary! Here's to many more happy years together!

I love this! My MIL (God rest her soul) used to put on her dress every year on their anniversary...even 30 years after her wedding day. She always used to tell me that the dress did no good sitting in a box! Mine is on the floor in my closet in a zip lock bag. I tried it on about a year ago and I couldn't zip it the last inch. I blame nursing and bigger boobs - not sure it'll ever zip again!

Although I would love to zip it, wear it, and then do a Trash the Dress session with a pro photographer! Love that idea.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! Your pics now & then are beautiful :) I am scared of my dress...it taunts me from the attic, I'm 20 lbs. heavier now...

Congratulations on winning the Sweet Bean blog makeover!!

What a beautiful dress! You look just as pretty in the dress with your boys, as you did on your actual wedding day!!

What a great idea to renew your vowels in the same dress and in Hawaii would be amazing!

Glad to hear your sis is doing ok.

Wow! You look stunning! ...and kuddos to you for being able to still wear it. What a great idea to renew your vows in it!!! I want to renew my vows someday on a beach too! My wedding was so hectic, I barely remember it so I would to do something very low key and romantic.

You are so absolutely beautiful! And your dress is stunning!

Our anniversary is Thursday and I am so totally going to try my dress on. It is still hanging up dirty and ripped, and probably smells like alcohol, but I'm going to dig it out for sure. I doubt it will fit, since I am still about 10 pounds heavier than I was on my wedding day, but it is the closest I have been to that weight since then, so what the hell, right?

I am SO GLAD that your sister is OK. I have come to know just how dangerous pneumonia is.
