Miscellany Monday…

Welcome bloggy friends to another edition of Miscellany Monday. Wow, seems like I haven’t participated in one in a while. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. And now for a few of my random musings….

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

ONE. Love. How much of it do you have to give?? The other night the hubs and I were just hanging out with the kiddos and he looked at me and said ‘I never thought you could love two kids this much.’ I just looked at him and replied ‘did you think you were not going to love Anthony as much as Christopher?’ It started a whole conversation. I guess you don’t know how much love you have until you have a second (or third, or fourth, etc…LOL) child. And that love it unconditional and stronger than any love you have ever felt for anyone.

TWO. Okay…so maybe I lied. I can love something just as much as my kids. And this is it….
The REMINGTON Wet to Straight Flat Iron
iron
A friend told me about it and she said it worked wonders. Who would believe that a flat iron could dry and straighten wet hair at the same time? So, for the $25 (at Bed Bath and Beyond…plus you use your 20% off coupon) that is cost, I had to try it. And I am so glad I did, because I am in love!

THREE.  I, like most of you, am now in the cleaning and organizing mode since the start of the New Year. It feels so good to open a draw that is not cluttered. To open a door and not have ‘stuff’ falling in your head. How in the world to we accumulate so much junk? My resolution is not just to clean and organize, but to ‘maintain’ the work I am doing.  So, keep posting the really great tips on organizing. It is totally keeping me inspired.

FOUR. Yesterday I was lucky enough to have a few hours to myself. I found a sewing store that has ‘open sew’ on Sundays. You can bring your machine and just utilize their tables, irons, etc. to sew quietly. I knew I wanted to try it. There were supposed to be people on staff to help you out with any questions you had. I walked in to find a few ladies that looked like this….

The sweetest bunch of old ladies you would ever meet. But, is sewing not for the young?? Is it only in NY that old people are the only sewers?? I am glad I went. These old broads taught me some great new tricks!!

Love that you're learning to sew, I sew (hehe) need to do this too! I might just have to check out that flat iron, mine is on it's last legs! And how cool is that that it works on wet hair!

I know what you mean about the unlimited love for your kids...we feel the same way!

Have a good start to your week, Jennifer!

It's amazing how much you can love a kid, isn't it?

I'm hoping to maintain my cleaning and organizing too. That's the hardest part for me. I love all the motivation from fellow bloggers too!

"Open sew" sounds like so much fun, even if it is with a bunch of old ladies! HA! I bet they had lots of good tips and tricks. What did you make?

We've discussed how much love we have for our two boys! So sweet.

I want to learn to sew, so I hope it's not only for old people!:)

I used to have one of those flat irons when I had long hair and they are AMAZING!

Have a happy Monday. I hopped over from Carissa's!

1. It never really crossed my mind that I wouldn't, just that it would be a different kind of love for each of them. And, it is. Just in a good way.

2. Hmmm...I may need one of those. Like, now.

3. My best organizing tip is to clean/organize as you go. If I have a few extra minutes and see that something can be done quickly I'll make the side trip to do it then.

4. How FUN! And no, old people are sewers everywhere. I think it's a dying skill, sadly...

LOL! I am ALWAYS the youngest in a room of sewers. Anymore, it's me instructing too though. But it does make you feel like you are learning some sort of endangered skill... It is SO unfortunate that universities and colleges are closing their programs that include sewing...

Yay! A Miscellany Monday post! Although I have been so out of touch for so long, that I wouldn't have even known you missed any.

One. I say all the time that I never really knew true love until I had my kids. I can't even put into words how much I love them. When I was pregnant with Rylie, Brian said something about being afraid that he wouldn't have enough love for Bryce too, but I can assure you that he does. You're right...you just don't know how much love you have. (And now my eyes are tearing up.)

Two. Shut up! Really? It dries and straightens? And it is only $25? I must get one!

Three. I wish I was in the cleaning and organizing mode. Nope, I'm just planning a birthday party that will bring even more toys in my house. The walls are closing in! Good luck to you, though. I know how much better I would feel if everything was cleaned and organized.

Four. Haha. When I was in college I worked at a craft store. I was one of the only "kids" that worked there.

I hope you're having a great week!

Age is so relative! I would soak up being the "young" one in a room. Down here in the land of the newly weds and nearly deads, I feel young all the time! It's so much better than feeling like you are old and outdated...I get that feeling when I wander into a Forever 21 or Abercrombie store. LOL.

It's amazing how much love multiplies in famiies...there is definitely enough to go around and even more to give. Great post, Jenn!

HAHA I just sent you an email about how I can't find fabric in my local quilt store... it's all granny fabric ( I say that with love!)
